Labour induction acupuncture is a gentle, natural way to help prepare your body for birth and encourage the onset of labour.

This treatment is suitable for women between 37 and 40 weeks of pregnancy who wish to support the natural beginning of labour in a calm and holistic way.

Rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture uses carefully selected points to help soften and prepare the cervix, regulate the nervous system, and encourage the hormonal changes needed for labour to begin.

Each session is tailored to your stage of pregnancy and individual presentation. Treatments are designed to support your body’s natural readiness for birth while also promoting deep relaxation, helping you feel more calm, grounded, and prepared in the final weeks of pregnancy.

Labour induction acupuncture may help to:

Claire is an absolutely amazing acupuncturist. So kind and patient, with great advice. I really appreciate the care and attention she provides alongside her expertise. I had recently been undergoing treatment that can suppress your immune system and so Claire offered me acupressure opposed to using needles which instantly put my mind at rest. Despite being on annual leave, Claire came in out of hours to do a pre and post IVF transfer acupuncture. Unfortunately with IVF transfers, you can’t predict when they will be. Just completed 8 weeks of Auricular Acupuncture with Claire to treat hot flushes as a result of cancer treatment. I can’t recommend her enough. Prior to visiting Claire I had a stiff neck for a number of years. I woke up in December 2023 unable to move my left arm, after feeling pins and needles. 2 years later I am still waiting for the NHS to give me a diagnosis and treatment. Within 6 months Claire has improved mobility and reduced some pain in the neck and shoulders. She is a very knowledgeable and experienced practitioner.
